Agama’s new support for observability of multicast ABR streams from Broadpeak nanoCDN™ solution Enhances Video Service Quality, Efficiency, & Future-Proofing Capabilities.
Linköping, Sweden 12 Sep 2023 – Agama Technologies (“Agama”), a specialist in video observability analytics for service quality and customer experiences is proud to announce the integration of multicast ABR stream monitoring into their Analyzer probe offerings. This development is a result of a collaboration between Agama and Broadpeak, a leader in Content Delivery Network (CDN) and multicast Adaptive Bitrate (mABR) solutions that has now been deployed by DELTA.
The Agama head-end and network observability solution empowers users with a comprehensive understanding of service performance in every stage of the process: encoding, packaging and delivery. With the newly introduced support for multicast ABR in the Agama Analyzer, this software probe is now capable of validating the encapsulated ABR segments and manifest contained in the multicast streams.
“As mABR represents about 90% of the overall traffic during big live events, it has become a key element of DELTA’s delivery strategy.” Said Bart Smeels, Manager Platforms and Services at DELTA Fiber. “Being able to monitor the delivery enables us to understand and improve the quality of service.”
As a part of the complete head-end and network delivery observability offering from Agama, key insights in mABR stream health in the head-end and in network points will help service providers to keep track of service performance and quickly act if any issues arise.
“A key objective for Agama has always been to ensure effective management of video delivery. We are thrilled to announce support for mABR stream observability in the Agama Analyzer line of probes” says Johan Görsjö, Director of Product & Engineering at Agama.
As video usage continually grows, service providers must contend with the dual challenge of high customer expectations on service quality as well as ensuring network and CDN capacity to their customers. Multicast ABR represents a technology that facilitates ABR video delivery via multicast, removing any bandwidth limitation that large audience content usually trigger, in particular live sport events, while preserving a perfect quality.
“By monitoring the mABR streams, Agama and Broadpeak are bringing more scalability and operability to Delta, ensuring a compelling experience for their subscribers.” said Damien Sterkers, Video Solutions Marketing Director at Broadpeak. “Adding accurate observability to mABR streams for popular live content is going to further accelerate the deployment of the technology across the world.”
