New Broadpeak Feature Empowers Operators to Lower Energy Consumption
CESSON-SEVIGNE, France — Aug. 29, 2024 — Broadpeak®, a leading provider of content delivery network (CDN) and video streaming solutions for content providers and pay-TV operators worldwide, announced today the introduction of energy consumption KPIs on its monitoring portal, which is available across all of the company’s solutions. With the state-of-the-art technology, video service providers can monitor the energy consumption of the company’s streaming software deployed on baremetal to provide data to reduce their environmental impact.
“Adding this new feature on our monitoring portal underscores our commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of video streaming,” said Jacques Le Mancq, CEO at Broadpeak. “With our latest innovation, we are excited to lead the industry toward more sustainable streaming. By adding energy consumption to the monitored KPIs, we enable operators to gain real-time insights into potential areas of improvement and implement the relevant actions to lower energy consumption.”
Broadpeak’s comprehensive monitoring technology collects and displays real-time energy consumption metrics on an intuitive dashboard. Measurement metrics include instantaneous and total energy usage, as well as maximum, minimum, and average energy consumption. In addition, it tracks wattage per CPU and RAM, watt per hour, and various temperatures (i.e., ambient, CPU, PCH). The user-friendly dashboard allows video service providers to analyze the impact of video streaming traffic on energy consumption. By centralizing all relevant information, the monitoring technology offers a comprehensive overview for support and operations teams.
